Two ways in, and nothing to fill out

Before you call, find three things
- The model number. On a range it is on the frame behind the oven door, low on the left. On a cooktop it is under the front lip.
- The exact symptom. How many seconds it clicks. How far off the oven runs. Which zone drops out and under what pan.
- When it started. After a power cut, after a remodel, after a clean cycle — that usually names the part on its own.

Hood sounded strong but grease still settled on the cabinets. He measured the airflow, showed me the house was sealed too tight for it, then fitted a make-up air damper. Enormous difference.

Two of the four burners would only light off a match. Both electrodes were caked from years of Valley dust and one lead had worn bare. Cheaper than the module another shop pushed.

One burner would not stay lit unless I held the knob in. The thermocouple was coated and loose in its bracket. Sorted in half an hour. Wish the arrival window had been tighter.
